Diamond Allegiance Triumphs at WWBA Jupiter Championship: A Big Impact
In a thrilling display of skill, teamwork, and resilience, three of the final four teams at the prestigious 2024 WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Florida, were members of the Diamond Allegiance. This is a true testament to the strength and impact of the Diamond Allegiance within the Travel Baseball community. The four organizations who were represented in the Final 4 were Power Baseball, Canes Midwest National, and CBA Marucci, with CBA Marucci emerging as Champions. Their 4-0 win over East Coast Sox 2025 Scout showcased not only their raw talent but also their determination, discipline and camaraderie, all hallmarks of Diamond Allegiance teams.
CBA Marucci’s Path to Victory
The championship game spotlighted exceptional pitching, led by Taylor Werth, a UC Davis commit from San Diego, who delivered five shutout innings with four strikeouts, and a fastball topping at 92 mph. Werth showcased outstanding control and feel for pitching—relying on a mix of cutters, curveballs, and fastballs—keeping a high powered East Coast Sox Lineup his off balance.
Reliever Brock Cross took over in the later innings, throwing 34 pitches and striking out three to seal the game. Cross, primarily a catcher, showed incredible adaptability, stepping up to pitch when his team needed him most. Reflecting on the final out, Cross shared, “I just felt pure joy… my whole travel baseball career ended at that moment, and it was just unforgettable.”
Team Chemistry & Grit: Keys to CBA Marucci’s Success
CBA Marucci’s victory was fueled by both individual talent and unbreakable team chemistry. Coach Jon Paino emphasized that success isn’t always about having the most talent on paper but about perseverance, sacrifice, and teamwork—values deeply embedded in the Diamond Allegiance ethos. “Our grit as a whole is second to none,” said Ethan Clauss, who delivered key RBIs in the championship. “I think we wanted it more than the other team every game, and that’s what brought us that championship.”
Catcher William Bandel, a class of 2026 player, was highlighted as an unsung hero by Coach Paino, who praised his defensive prowess and consistency behind the plate.
Diamond Allegiance’s Lasting Impact
The success of Diamond Allegiance teams at the WWBA Jupiter Championship goes beyond this single tournament. It demonstrates the powerful impact that dedication, training, and the shared values of the Diamond Allegiance can have on young athletes. Congratulations to CBA Marucci on their hard-earned championship and to Power Baseball and Canes Midwest National for their remarkable journeys. The Diamond Allegiance continues to shape the future of baseball, one championship at a time.
